Tyranny is not easily conquered. Yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, greater the reward of triumph.
That which is obtained too cheap, we esteem too lightly. It is costliness only that gives everything its value.
Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its worth, and it would be strange, indeed, if so celestial goodness as freedom from sin should not be most dearly rated. Escape from the tyranny of hell, what may that be worth?
“I tell you, he will vindicate them without delay; but will the Son of Man, when he comes, find faith on earth?” Luke 18:8 (MOUNCE)
Christ Himself gave His last full measure to these ends. Shall we be less willing in our personal commitment to follow where He leads? Are we of this world or the home He is preparing for us?
Let us then follow Christ, whatever may be the sacrifice for so great a love.
We have but one true home,
Where we will abide forever.
Foxes have dens, and birds have nests,
The Son of Man had nowhere to call home
As He roamed searching for the lost.
Domiciles we call home at times offer
Little more than temporary respite from
Much running to and fro.
Not to forget our longing yet to be there,
Home is where the heart is
When that heart is at home in the Lord above all.
Augustine said, You have made us for yourself,
And our heart is restless until it rests in You.
Sharing this observation in conversation with God,
Savior nodding His head said, Yes by so careful design.
Therefore, we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
May the Peace of Christ be with you,
wherever the will of Christ leads you.
I Exalt Thee O LORD
