(No) More

You can see  my smile no more

behind  the mask we are told must be worn.

I can not in this season

shake your hand when greeting,

as in a more friendly time –

it may be a crime.

Hugs are now frowned upon, if not outright denied –

(must not touch).

But that’s all of human device, if I may be more precise.

It’s so nice God still says to His, not being opaque,

“Give Me more! I will never deny you, nor forsake!

I will always hem you in, name etched within My palms,

and surround you completely in My enfolding arms.

I will always see your smile before Me, fixedly stored

deep within your heart! My smile will evermore

shine upon you forever present through My Light,

where our spirits come together with so much delight!”

‘You have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.’ ~Romans 8: 15-16 (NLT)
