Memory’s Tapestry

I do find it beneficial to revisit the basics: remember to breathe, remember to smile, remember to walk upright, remember where I am going before I get there and Who brought me this far.

The tip of His arrow seeking to find its mark,

The mark always drawn to the tip of His arrow.

The arrow of His goodness a powerful pull.

‘Do this in remembrance of Me.’

No more to fret, my soul

Do you not remember

He said from the beginning

It was always going to be this way.

How slow of heart for you to believe

Expectations are not hope’s desire

Desires confused of hope must expire

Hope is reality unrealized yet to come.

It is well with my soul, it is well secured

My soul believes truth yet unseen of eye

No more to lament, my heart

It was always going to be this way

The way of the Master, the way for my soul

The end of the road has a Name

The road, the road to Emmaus as He led

O, my soul why so downcast, be sweetly consoled

Remember the open-eyed understanding,

The Power of thunder-clap and flash.

From before the beginning of days, He said

It was always going to be this way.

St. Luke 24:13-35

“They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.” Lk. 24 vss. 14-16
