Thus far did I come

It is Monday morning in this time and place of my waking existence, as my eyes open to see the early rising sunlight twinkling through the trees. These sleepy thoughts came to mind and lingered for me to ponder upon, as I was waking. And gave the Savior praise, thanking the Lord for another day to know more of Him and His goodness, upon the earth.

Shall I glory in the tomb?

Shall I glory in the tree?

Shall I not glory in Him doomed

Who suffered shame for me?

It is He who set my spirit free,

breathing Life into me,

opening my eyes at last to see.

“Thus far did I come, burdened with my sin.

Nor could ought ease the grief that I was in

’til I came hither.

What a place is this!

Must here be the beginning of my bliss?

Must here the burden fall off my back?

Must here the chains that bound it to me crack?

Blest cross! Blest sepulchre!

Blest rather be,

the Man who was put to shame for me”

(John Bunyan)

Eclectic in renderings. Prose and poetry, rhyme, free verse, and graphics. I have but One interest with manifold interests emanating from that One. More info available in 'About Me' in my 'Hiding in Plain Site.' There is a small square box with three little dots inside, on the upper right hand side of every blog posted page,at the right side of title banner. Click on those dots to take you to a "hidden" site page with more info provided by me, including "follow" button and "About me." (I didn't design this.It came as-is). Also, WP has a mandatory banner at the bottom of the screen about privacy and cookies policy that blocks the visibility of a "follow" button that pops up under a "close and accept' of the privacy agreement. You must click the 'close and accept' to see the follow button. Things are becoming more complicated to navigation with hidden activations and complex instructions.

  1. My morning was just given to God to do as He pleased. I was able to share christ with a far away friend. He gave me an inch and I probably took a foot, but we are friends and maybe, just maybe?? Someday??
    Good monday post G.W.
There were so many ways to Glory in our savior today. Sometimes I fear missing them in my self centered world

    1. Amen, my friend! I so often fear missing it myself! Sending extra prayer for your friend for the Lord to open the eyes of his heart, that he may be drawn in by His goodness!
