It is Monday morning in this time and place of my waking existence, as my eyes open to see the early rising sunlight twinkling through the trees. These sleepy thoughts came to mind and lingered for me to ponder upon, as I was waking. And gave the Savior praise, thanking the Lord for another day to know more of Him and His goodness, upon the earth.
Shall I glory in the tomb?
Shall I glory in the tree?
Shall I not glory in Him doomed
Who suffered shame for me?
It is He who set my spirit free,
breathing Life into me,
opening my eyes at last to see.
“Thus far did I come, burdened with my sin.
Nor could ought ease the grief that I was in
’til I came hither.
What a place is this!
Must here be the beginning of my bliss?
Must here the burden fall off my back?
Must here the chains that bound it to me crack?
Blest cross! Blest sepulchre!
Blest rather be,
the Man who was put to shame for me”
