The Oil of Joy for Mourning

Greetings to all my neighbors around this small planet, this island in creation called Earth. Near and far: (a special shout-out to my friend Terri Nida and my friend Steeny)

Did you have a bad day? Do you conceivably regard the world going to hell in a handcart? Maybe not. Maybe you had a good day, and all is moving gloriously to glory. Either way. I sincerely encourage all in the universal world-wide Church of Almighty God, in Christ to read this prompt.

If a little Church newspaper editorial, from little Ol’ Scotland can shine this much Hope from the right Source, and make it Shine this bright, then, hey! The Light so richly does shine in the darkness throughout the realm, wherever you are. Where-so-ever around the world this reaches you, please have a read. It is very well worth your time!  -g.w.

Leonard Cohen sings about the cracks where the Light gets in…

I love Scotland and the Scottish people – especially that dry Scottish sense of humour. What other nation in the world would have one of its major football teams singing about ‘sorrow’ when they have just won the Scottish Cup. Hibernian’s anthem is the Proclaimers’ ‘Sunshine on Leith’:

My heart was broken, my heart was broken
Sorrow, Sorrow, Sorrow, Sorrow
My heart was broken, my heart was broken

You saw it,
You claimed it
You touched it,
You saved it

My tears are drying, my tears are drying
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you
My tears are drying, my tears are drying

Your beauty and kindness
Made tears clear my blindness
While I’m worth my room on this earth
I will be with You

While the Chief puts Sunshine On Leith
I’ll thank Him for his work
And your birth and my birth.

More info available in 'About Me' in my 'Hiding in Plain Site.' (There is a small square box with three little dots inside, on the upper right hand side of every blog page,at the right side of title banner. Click on those dots to take you to a "hidden" site page with more info provided by me, including "follow" button and "About me." I didn't design this thing. It came as-is.)Also WP has a mandatory banner at the bottom of the screen about privacy and cookies policy that blocks the visibility of a "follow" button that pops up under a "close and accept' of the privacy agreement. You have to click the 'close and accept to see the follow button. Things are becoming more complicated to navigation with hidden activations and complex instructions. If something seems simple you're probably doing it wrong.

  1. We will talk about light and it’s many meanings. Many a discussion around the deep wilderness campfires will be had in the coming week with my family wandering from lake to lake in canoes. A measly million acres of wilderness to explore seems so large (especially when lost) but so small. So greetings back to You G.W.

  2. That was lovely, my brother. That video, wow, much beauty portrayed. I hope that Mr. Cohen believed within his heart before he died that Jesus is the only way to the Father.

And thank you so much for thinking of me. It is always an honour to be remembered.

    1. I so much agree in your hope that Mr. Cohen did, indeed receive the Light of Life before he departed this realm.
And , yes, of course I would honor your friendship. 😊 ✨🙏
