Resurrection Day Joy!

Morning has broken. Life is alive.

A Resurrection message for Christians everywhere Worldwide.

A thankful prayer O Lord, if You are willing, and would alight to give to me the words to write.

The meaning of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by Almighty God and Father, is one that is well known by His people – most, that is to say. Those who do not understand the meaning can find the mechanics/theology of it in many places other than this small blog. Including the Bible.

To write a few words here about it is a daunting task to me, because so many have already described it in so many ways better than any poor effort by me, considering the magnitude of the event. Including the Bible, itself.

It was a one time occurrence that shook both heaven and earth. Earth dwellers, in general, find it too fantastic to comprehend or even imagine, therefore dismiss it as fantasy on so many different levels.

We who are in Christ and believe in it, approach it in many different ways also, but all agree that it happened and is truth, unquestionable. We trust God and His communication of Truth imparted to us. That being the case, we also trust the evidence of the recorded witnesses who were alive to experience walking with, socializing with and learning more of the Lord, for forty days after His resurrection. The plethora of witnesses who viewed His ascension into heaven while in their midst is also well recorded.

These things are excellently documented in the bible by some of those witnesses, and are adeptly known and accepted by us. And at the same time it remains high-voltage intriguing to grasp, when we “be still and know” and really meditate on the true magnitude, and manifold meaning of this one time event in all creation’s history – not only of earth, but heaven also. One time!

One time. The event including Almighty God, Himself coming to earth in the similitude, the person, of man while retaining His full true identity of God; to the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension back into heaven! One. Time. Event. With manifold result, but one overarching purpose! That objective was to remove the impenetrable barrier that sin had erected to separate man from His Creator. A barrier that was in direct violation of God and could not stand – and no force on earth could remove. The magnitude of this act! Of His doing this, yes, but His willingness to do this!

And the angels of heaven, and those also bound for hell, witness these events as they unfold, with their mouths agape and eyes bulging at the power, the boldness of action; the very incomprehensibility of the plan, but of the LOVE – the depth of LOVE that was required and portrayed by it all! The glaring, suddenly obvious, unquestionable importance of mankind’s position in God’s eyes are displayed through the strategy and tactics He is willing to take to reconcile mankind back into fellowship with Himself! LOVE! Amazing Love! What kind of LOVE is this that God has for us, these lowly creatures known, up until then, as mere earth dwellers, now the many to be known as Children of GOD! The angels of God serve God in love and obedience concerning all things that concern the Almighty, including the children of God foremost. But still, with mouths agape and bulging eyes in AWE of the God Whom we also serve.

If you want to call this day Easter, then I wish you Happy Easter. If Resurrection day, then Happy Resurrection Day (which I like better). I choose, personally to refer to it as God’s Unfathomable Love Day. It’s just my personal choice. But however it is described by title, it is my desire, and struggling continuance, to keep it in my heart everyday of the year. It is interwoven throughout my daily identity in Christ, and continuing daily remembrance of my personal salvation, how I came by it, and what He did to procure it for me.

So, yes, Almighty God shook heaven and earth one time in all of His Story in the way described. BUT – He is going to shake heaven and earth one more time, with the great consequence of His return, at the time of His own choosing. He has told us so. Are you ready for it?

Happy Resurrection Day to all His saints (followers/ believers/ children of God in Christ) around the earth.   -g.w

…But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!

She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.  Gospel according to John 20: 11-18

  2. I call it another commercial holiday, but I am trying to convince myself to be grateful that at least there is a day at all that many in the world might think about the fact that Jesus was crucified and came back from the dead three days later, and give it some thought as to WHY that happened and what it means for each individual.

I know there is an ungodly history to the celebration of fertility and the false gods/goddesses that supposedly represent that (ie: the word “estra” as in stuff to do with “estrogen” is something on which people might want to think there), but whatever the calendar calls it, and whether the resurrection took place on that day or a different day, the fact remains that it did take place, and for that I am grateful EVERY DAY! ❤

    1. I very agree with you about the commercialism of any and all holiday seasons. And Christian celebrations don’t escape that. The early church, from about the 5th century on tried to change pagan holidays by replacing them with pure Christian interpretive celebrations, and had some success. But we know the power of darkness is not going to give up that easily. Which is why we see the holidays reverting back to paganism (commercialism being the lesser of evils among the many darker) I keep it a matter of the heart between me and the Savior. My relationship with the One True God is very personal with me. Being such I discuss it with a very few close people to me, only. And rarely, if ever, with anyone in the church. But they know where I stand and which hill I am willing to die on (Calvary).

Unlike Christmas, Resurrection Day (easter) timing is accurately recorded historically so that we can place it with precision on our calendar each year. We know it is closely linked to the Jewish Passover which is determined each year by the first Sabbath after the first full moon of the vernal (spring) equinox. As you may know, Resurrection Day is the supreme most important Christian remembrance day of the year. Christ’s resurrection was proof that God the Father accepted Christ’s propitiative payment for our sin. The chasm between God and mankind now has a bridge enabling us to approach God by way of the Cross of Calvary. This is important as a reminder for us every (Easter) Sunday.

But other than than that, Hallelujah on that day we are all able to meet in that Great By and By! And may the Good Lord bless you richly here and there. ✝ 🙏

      1. The birds of a feather flock together here on WordPress. Gary’s name is familiar. I think I follow him. So many new names to me in the past month. Well, a handful, but still for me that is a lot.

        Blessings, bro!

  3. OK, While I was off grid…LOL
G.W. you continue to amaze me with your depth of understanding, passion and strength in your chain of words melded from depths of thought. You have grasped the golden link of that one moment in time that makes all else have significance. Resurrection day. Yes, “God’s Unfathomable Love Day”. I like that a lot. And…if you ever get to north west Wisconsin I have a screen porch where deep discussions abound.

    1. Thank you, Gary, my friend for that very generous assessment! It’s a great encouragement. Especially since what I’m working on now is longer and more in depth and intricate. And thank you for the generous invitation. It sounds very inviting to spend time in deep discussion in that screen porch. A great atmosphere for such discussion And I’m going to ruminate on such a generous offer seriously! Thanks again, my friend! 🙂
