Letting Go

There is is this thing called Eternity. It is Life that swallows up mortality at a time of His own choosing. When Eternity and mortality clash, Eternity proves Himself sovereign over all. Mortality bends a knee to sovereign Eternity, and calls Him Lord. I call Him Lord Jesus.                                     (2 Corinthians 5:4) para

Letting go of that which can’t be kept,

to take hold a treasure

that can’t be earned.

15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:15-21

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” Matthew 16:26

Time – there is a limit. Who can know it?

More info available in 'About Me' on my site page.(There is a small square box with three little dots inside, on the upper right hand side of every blog page,at the right side of title banner. Click on those dots to take you to a "hidden" site page with more info provided by me, including "follow" button and "About me." I didn't design this thing. It came as-is.)Also WP has a mandatory banner at the bottom of the screen about privacy and cookies policy that blocks the visibility of a "follow" button that pops up under a "close and accept' of the privacy agreement. You have to click the 'close and accept to see the follow button. Things are becoming more complicated to navigation with hidden activations and complex instructions. If something seems simple you're probably doing it wrong.

  1. Doing a little scrolling back on one of my favorite blogs, I read this.

I have been enjoying the videos of SE Samonte for several years. There are so many beautiful acapella versions of favorite hymns. But only just now, after I clicked on Nearer My God To Thee here, did I realize it is SE Samonte and not SE Samonite. I have been saying it in my head as Samonite, like Salmon Knight, all these years?

    Huh.

(Shakes head at self. Dyslexic moments.)
