Heart, Mind and Soul

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

– Psalm 62:7-8 (NIV)

To limit Christianity to an intellectual pursuit is to miss the point; life with God encompasses all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. We were created with strong emotions and King David (the author of this Psalm) tells us that prayer is a safe place to come to grips with how you feel. All of our resentment, anger, and bitterness is not a secret from God, so why would we act like we can hide those feelings? Let prayer be a place where your mind and your heart can be free.

35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”  Matthew 22:35-40 (ESV)

God’s word isn’t brain surgery (however the brain isn’t excluded). It’s not rocket science (however science isn’t excluded). It’s not a heart-breaker (however the heart is not excluded). It’s not a back-breaker (however the body is not excluded). Heart, Mind, Soul and Strength – ALL of me — to the Glory of God. Is that not worship?  –g.w

Also, WP has a mandatory banner at the bottom of the screen about privacy and cookies policy that blocks the visibility of a "follow" button that pops up under a "close and accept' of the privacy agreement. You must click the 'close and accept' to see the follow button. Things are becoming more complicated to navigation with hidden activations and complex instructions.
