Having worn like indestructible leather, it remains.

The Bible is the source of knowledge and comfort that all Christians turn to for the evidence of light it offers and it alone can provide. The bible is an earth-available oracle that allows us to peer into eternity and view the very thoughts and mind of Almighty God Himself. It is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative word of God; and therefore, the only rule and standard for Christian faith and practice. However, it never requires to be taken without question, but rather invites scrupulous investigation, examination, evaluation and limitless study.

Human knowledge (that is: reason, experience and intellect) alone cannot answer the basic crucial, but ageless questions of human existence: Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Is there any purpose to human existence? Where is history going?

Unless there is another source that carries us beyond the earth-bound limits of reason and experience, there is no hope of finding these basic issues of meaning and significance. The bible claims to provide this source of knowledge, and lives up to that assertion.

Over the ages many have sifted the Bible looking for error, inconsistencies, falsehood and failed. In spite of persecution, perversion, criticism, abuse, and time, the Bible has survived virtually intact. Many have sought to ban and destroy the Bible, but their efforts have always failed, often causing it to flourish when it might have remained dormant. As an anvil that has worn out many hammers, its truth rings the more pure when it’s struck against the hardest.

Men and women of all times and lands and stations in life have sought the pages of the Bible for comfort, wisdom and challenge. Pioneers on horseback, truck drivers in their semis and astronauts circling the moon have pondered its truths. Gang leaders in cities and headhunters in the Amazon have been transformed by its message.

As a picturesque rainbow draws mankind’s attention skyward, so the Bible draws them irresistibly to its message. The rainbow does not distinguish between the eye of a poor man or a king. Its attraction and promise are the same for all who behold, if only they have the eyes to see.  So the Bible, though its colors are many and its spectrum is wide, it is nonetheless one graceful arch of hope over a storm-darkened planet, varied in its appeal – singular in its beauty.

Reading the Bible isn’t only about knowledge – it’s about connecting with Almighty God. As a revelation of God’s love, the Bible requires a response. We must not only respond intellectually to its message, but also volitionally and morally.

The Bible is eternal in its message, construct, and purpose. Eternal and forever isn’t just a concept, it’s a reality that becomes most evident to us when we first believe the evidence of the Bible message and accept it for what it truly is – the truth, verifiable through God’s divine revelation. The Lord’s blessings are on all who read and incorporate it into their daily live.

May the Lord’s personal and special blessings be with you this day wherever you are.

“so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
